KUALA LUMPUR: Founder and Managing Director of Borneo Eco Tours (BET), Albert Teo added another feather to his cap when he bagged the Best Tour Operator Award for the Responsible Tourism Category of the inaugural MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) Awards 2019 & Gala Dinner at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur on Sunday night.
Teo, who has been in the tourism industry for 42 years, received the award from the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik and MATTA President, Datuk Tan Kok Liang.
His Sukau Rainforest Lodge is recognised as one of the 61 National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, and the only one in Malaysia.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew, who recently launched BET’s new Borneo Villa Accommodation at Teo’s award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge, congratulated the latter on his latest feat.
