PENAMPANG: Dart Kingdom Malaphil, a Malaysian-Filipino team of Felix Chen and Jerry Salenga was crowned the 1st Hall of Fame International Doubles Challenge 2019 champions at the Hall of Fame here.

They walked away with a cool RM11,000 cash prize money after beating Ryan Ocampo and  Boy-G of Dartskindom from the Philippines in a world class showdown of the two-day tournament recently.

Local home team, Hall of Fame comprising of Larry Wong and Chris Woo took the Silver Division first placing.

On Day 2, 64 players played in the ad hoc event of open singles with Amin Abdul Ghani (Kuala Lumpur) winning a close fight match against Tengku Shah also from Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 60 teams took part in the tournament offering a total cash prize of RM30,000, the biggest prize money so far for doubles in Malaysia.

The participating teams came from Brunei, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and all around Malaysia, said Managing Director of Hall of fame. Chris Woo.

Thanking all the participants and supporters that came to play and watch the two-day tournament, he hoped more youngster will be interested to play darts.

“It is a sports that is suitable for all level of people and gender. When it come to darts, we are one.

“It is a mentally and physically challenging game where one milimetre makes a lot of difference on the dart board,” he said.

Chris said they looked forward for more local and international teams to participate in the second edition with bigger prize money in early August this year

The organisers expressed appreciation for the support from Playdarts Sdn Bhd(Kota Kinabalu) , Yummi Darts Home (Selangor), Darts Market (Hong Kong), Dardos Cafe (Sarawak) and Dart Kingdom (Kota Kinabalu).-SabahNewsToday
