KOTA KINABALU: It is quite surprising that Sabah Umno Youth Chief Aziz Julkarnain came out in defence of Zainnal Ajamain soon after the Sepanggar Warisan Youth lodge a police report to launch an official investigation against the latter.
“This show how easy it is for Zainnal Ajamain to switch his allegiance when no one wants to entertain his demands. This shows that all his so called activism, and so called pledge to defend Sabah rights comes with certain requirements and he wants something in return. Does this sound like an honest man?” asked Jo Nandu, the Senior Special Officer to Nominated Assemblyman, Terrence Siambun.
In a statement here, he said the police report made by Wira Warisan clearly showed that the Sabah Government led by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is not practising abuse of power but rather leaving it to the law to determine the lawfulness of such act by Zainnal to ridicule the Chief Minister.
“That is not autocratic. And it is only one police report that has been officially filed with the police and already we see who came out to defend Zainnal Ajamain.
“As I recalled, in April 15, 2015 when I made a comment against (Tan Sri) Musa Aman for his lacklustre performance as a Chief Minister at that time for failing to renegotiate the Oil Royalty agreement.
“And thus out of frustration I posted a comment in my official Facebook. Immediately 12 Umno Youth divisions launched a police report against me and a month later I was escorted out from my work office with two officers from Special Branch, two Special Officers from Bukit Aman Multimedia Division, and two other ranking police officers.
“I remember clearly, the same day I was escorted to Special Branch Karamunsing, it was the day after the kidnapping incident at Ocean King Sandakan.
“So how can Aziz Julkarnain say the eight-month old Sabah Warisan government is practising an autocratic attitude? It is only one police report and nobody is demanding Zainnal to be quiet.
“Compare that to my situation four years ago when 12 police reports were lodged against me and demanded my mouth to be shut tight?” he asked.
According to him, the Sepanggar Warisan Youth abide law requirement and only wanted police to open an investigation.
“Clear as a crystal this is no abuse of power. And Zainnal is whining about one police report?”
For the record, he said Aziz had wrongly quoted Datuk Seri Shafie’s call for “Sabah for Sabahan.”
“It is “SABAHAN FOR SABAH” which is more meaningful and inclusive. Sabahan fighting, delivering, for the love of Sabah.
“With regards to school repairs allocation; I am quite surprised that both Aziz Julkarnain and Zainnal are not aware that Sabah now has its own Ministry of Education and Innovation and last July 2018, this ministry has announced RM20 million allocation for scholarships, repairs and to support PIBG on many other related issues,” he said.-SabahNewsToday
