KOTA KINABALU: The 4th Urban Modern Agriculture Development Summit and 7th Agro-Chengdu Exhibition will be held from April 25 to 28 at the Chengdu Century City International Convention and Exhibition Centre, China.
It is aimed at promoting the “One Belt, One Road” development and cooperation as well as to share agricultural development experiences and achievements.
In conjunction with the Summit, a forum on the East Asean Agricultural Development that is being organised by the IUMAE would be held on April 26.
BIMP-Eaga Business Council (BEBC) Malaysia chairman, Datuk Roselan Johar Mohamed is expected to present a keynote address at the forum.
Among those invited for the forum are Chinese leaders, experts and agriculture researchers where they could exchange ideas on the agricultural development layout and needs in East Asean Growth Area.
This would facilitate cooperation through the IUMAE on these projects namely:
– Agricultural technology promotion: R&D and study planning of tropical crop cultivation demonstration projects;
– Encouraging the negotiation and discussion
concerning a series of exclusive agricultural product trade cooperation projects between Chengdu, Sichuan, China and East ASEAN; and
– How to integrate the development resources in Asean through the IUMAE and spur an all-round development in Asean along the “Belt and Road” strategic framework.-SabahNewsToday
