SABAH WANTS A FAIR DEAL FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT – JUNZ WONG

By Chris Maskilone

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah Vice President Datuk Junz Wong is astonished that the Federal Government has allocated the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) a sum of RM2.89 billion for its development budget next year.

According to him, the amount was almost a two-third of Sabah’s RM5 billion allocation in the National Budget for the same period.

“Imagine the whole state of Sabah is only allocated RM5 billion while DBKL alone has been allocated RM2.89 billion for its development in 2019.

“Does this reflect the importance and status of Sabah?” asked Junz here today.

Junz said based on the state’s contribution to the country’s revenue as well as being an equal partner of Malaysia, Sabah surely deserved better treatment from the Federal Government.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry also said that Sabah was unhappy with the Federal Government 2019 budget as it was not even close to a fair deal.

He suggested that the Federal Government allocate a greater amount of fund to reflect fair treatment to Sabah and all fellow Sabahans

‘Or it might be timely to give back 40 per cent of the Oil and Gas royalties based on gross production and not based on nett profit.

“The rakyat expect the new Federal Government to do better and walk the talk in implementing fair policies as well as to include Sabah in the national development plan,” he said.

He also stressed on the urgency of MA63 restoration, and hence would bring about autonomy and economic sustainability for the state.-SabahNewsToday
