KOTA KINABALU: Express bus operators in the state will strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) under the conditional movement control order laid out by the government, as services resume tomorrow.

Sabah Express Bus Operators Council (Seboc) President Datuk Donald Hanapi said about 20 express bus operators with a total of more than 200 buses are prepared to ensure the SOP is fully complied.

In this respect he urged the passengers to give their full cooperation.

“We will have no choice but to bar passengers from boarding should they fail to comply with the SOP even though they may already purchased tickets,” he said in a statement here today.

Every passenger is required to fill up a declaration form for the relevant authorities reference and their body temperature will be checked before boarding, he said.

He said passengers must also wear the protective mask as well as abide to the sitting arrangements inside the bus.

Donald said the operators are only allowed to take half of the bus’ maximum passenger capacity in keeping with the social distancing requirement.

Prior to every trip each bus is also required to undergo sanitisation before passengers are allowed to board, he said.

Tickets could be purchased online using the Easy Book apps or as usual from the Inanam Bus Terminal counters, he added.-SabahNewsToday
