KOTA KINABALU: Forty big bikers will embark on a seven-day expedition traversing over 2,000 kilometres of Borneo to promote Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak as the latest destination for motoring tourism apart from creating buzz for Visit Malaysia Year 2020.
Dubbed as JBorneo19, the programme is a collaboration between Persatuan Anak Tanjung Aru (Persata), Sabah Big Bikers Association (SBBA) and Tourism Malaysia.
Organising chairman, Hossin Bayani said 20 big bikers from Brunei Darussalam Motorcycle Association (Pemoda) are also taking part in the programme that will be flagged off on Dec 1 here.
“JBorneo19 will cover 35 places in Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak, where we will also conduct community service projects,” he said.
In this respect, the organising team has launched JBorneo19’s official website at http://JBorneo19.com where people can get more information on the expedition.
The launching ceremony of the event social media platforms was done at Megah D’ Aru in Tanjung Aru near here on Wednesday.
Prior to the flag-off, Hossin said the JBorneo19 expedition team is scheduled to do a community service project at the Tanjung Aru Lama balairaya yard on Nov 30.
“Later that day, we have planned a gathering at Magellan Sutera Harbour where Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is expected to grace us with his presence,” he said.-SabahNewsToday
