KOTA KINABALU: Upko and its president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau could be traitors to former PBS President and Huguan Siou (paramount leader of the Kadazandusun) Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan but not to the majority of voters and people of Sabah.

“In the eyes of the majority of Sabah people, Madius and Upko are heroes because they dare to take action and be with Warisan and Pakatan Harapan to form the Government at the state and federal levels,” said Suang Lotud Sabah President Datuk Fredie Sua.

As heroes, he said Madius and Upko will be etched in history and always be remembered by the people of Sabah, particularly the youths, who have been very eager to change the government.

“As a mere ordinary person, may I say that as Huguan Siou he should not have made such statement during his last days as president  of PBS because Upko was born from PBS in 1994.

“As Huguan Siou, he can advise the new PBS leadership to find a common ground with Upko to bring the people of Sabah, especially the KDM community to progress,” he said.

Fredie urged Pairin to focus on administering the KadazanDusun Cultural Association and refrain from using the Huguan Siou institution as a political tool to bring down the state’s leadership, in particular those from the KDM community itself.-SabahNewsToday
