KOTA KINABALU: Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) Datuk Junz Wong has called on young agropreneurs in the state to come forward become part of the beneficiaries under the Young Agropreneur Grant Government Programme.
He encouraged Sabahans to actively response to government programmes which aimed at providing a helping hand to agriculture players.
“Do not hesitate to approach MAFI to get help, we are more than willing to assist agriculture players to achieve their goals,” he said.
The Young Agropreneur Grant Programme 2019 is a Grant under the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry with applicant must be a Malaysian between 18 and 40 years old, able to read, write and knows mathematics.
Under this programme, applicants have to fulfill certain criteria such as starting a new project and must attend technical training programme organised or certified by MOA.
For Certificate, Diploma or Degree holder applicants it would be not necessary for them to undergo the technical training.
Junz said that successful Young Agropreneur Grant Programme 2019 applicants will be provided a grant once in their lifetime, and priority will be given to those doing farming activities.
The minister said that young agropreneurs in Sabah must be aware and be well informed of government programmes.
Grant application is open starting from Jan 1 to 31 for phase 1, the second phase will be open on May 1 to 31 and Phase 3 will start from Sept 1 to 30 2019.
