Tahfiz As-Syatibiyah receives contribution from Christina Liew

KOTA KINABALU: Some 20 students of Pusat Pengajian Tahfiz As-Syatibiyah under Masjid Usia Bandar Kota Kinabalu in Bandaran Berjaya, Kota Kinabalu received new clothes (Baju Selangor and robes) and duit raya from Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Christina Liew during her visit to the institution in conjunction with Ramadan on Friday.

She also presented duit raya to members of the Masjid Usia Bandar Kota Kinabalu Management Committee.

Later, Liew, who is also Api-Api Assemblywoman, gave out festive goodies and bubur lambuk (congee) to mark the breaking of fast at the premises of the Tahfiz Centre.

The event was organised by the Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) for the Api-Api Constituency.

In his address, Chairman of the Tafiz Centre, Julniealam Amilussin expressed his gratitude to the Minister for her contributions in cash and kind consisting of rice, foodstuff, eggs, confectionery, mineral water, toiletries and footwear.

“This is the second time our Deputy Chief Minister has visited Pusat Pengajian Tahfiz As-Syatibiyah since she was elected as Api-Api Assemblywoman. Her concern for the well-being of our underprivileged children (including two fatherless kids) is reflected in her benevolent gesture,” he said.

Also present were the Minister’s Political Secretary Vivien Lee, Wakil Ketua Anak Negeri Stefly Said, Pemaju Mukim Zaini Simin and Api-Api Community Development Leader, Grace Lee.-SabahNewsToday
